Minerva Campus

A new natural sciences high school with a sustainable campus located near an existing university.
The design integrates the passive-heating building with the surrounding forest. Filled with several outdoor rooms that offer different experiences year-round, the campus aims to increase local biodiversity, provide areas for students to conduct experiments, and offer a gathering space for performances and graduation ceremonies.
A comprehensive stormwater system handles run-off from rain events. An extensive natural detention system comprised of wetland biotopes and rain gardens are linked to each other by subtle grading. The wetland areas also act as infiltration sites. A large water element in the entrance square collects run-off from hardscape.
